These two photos and following description come from the book You are here: Graphics that direct, explain & entertain Link points to external site, published in 1998.

“The kind of fun and playful design that made Apple Computer famous marks the comprehensive interior and exterior graphics program for the company’s Research and Development Campus. The project covers six buildings, with 850,000 sq. ft. of office space, on a 32.5 acre site in Cupertino, CA. It includes more than 3,000 room identification signs, code-required sings, building identification, and a major public art installation. Familiar Mac icons, typefaces, and bitmapped graphics are all included in the brightly colored system.”

These two pictures were shot by Thomas Stromberg in Apple Store in Durham, North Carolina, US, in March 2002.

The first one shows a long banner inside, highlighting the features of Mac OS X 10.1. The second one shows a desktop-like window of the store.
