By default, PAL version of Amiga Workbench supplies two graphic modes: 640×256 and interlaced 640×512 (both in 4 colours). With appropriate amount of memory, colour depth can be changed to 3 and 4 bits (8 and 16 colours respectively), although that doesn’t improve the basic GUI appearance in any significant way.

Designed to run on TVs, Amiga let its users position and size its screen on a bigger surface, called overscan. Pressing any of the two buttons would launch the centering utility shown below.
